In the United States, the Lotus Emira offers two engine options: the base four-cylinder model and the V-6 variant. The AMG-powered base model boasts 360 horsepower, while the V-6 delivers a more robust 400 horsepower. However, for markets outside the US, such as the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa, a new, more potent four-cylinder model is set to debut in 2025. The new Lotus Emira SE retains the same turbocharged 2.0-liter AMG four-cylinder engine but now produces 400 hp and 354 pound-feet of torque—an increase of 40 hp and 37 lb-ft. Notably, this horsepower figure now matches that of the V-6 Emira. Unfortunately, the four-cylinder model is exclusively available with an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission, whereas the V-6 can still be paired with a manual transmission.
The enhanced output of the Turbo SE model results in a marginally quicker 0-62 mph time of 4.0 seconds, compared to 4.3 seconds for the standard Turbo model. Additionally, the Emira Turbo SE boosts its top speed by 11 mph, reaching 180 mph. The Lotus Drivers Pack is standard on this model, featuring the stiffer Sport suspension, cross-drilled and ventilated two-piece brakes, and launch control. Visually, the SE stands out with a new 20-inch “V-Spoke” wheel design, red brake calipers, ‘Emira Turbo SE’ badging, darkened Lotus badges, and blacked-out exhaust tips. The interior also benefits from an upgraded Alcantara headliner.
Will the new Emira Turbo SE make its way to America? That remains uncertain. We have reached out to Lotus for clarification. For now, American buyers can still opt for the base Turbo four-cylinder model or the supercharged V-6. The base Turbo model starts at $99,900, and the V-6 model costs $105,400.
