American rapper Macklemore has called off his forthcoming performance in Dubai, originally set for October 4 at the Coca-Cola Arena. Born as Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, Macklemore is a celebrated artist known for hits such as 'Thrift Shop'. The Grammy Award-winning artist was initially slated to take the stage at the same venue in October last year. He gained global acclaim earlier this year with the release of his track 'Hind's Hall', which carries a Palestinian narrative. The song 'Hind's Hall' is a tribute to the memory of 6-year-old Palestinian child Hind Rajab, who was tragically killed in Gaza while waiting for help. The song's title draws inspiration from the subsequent global student demonstrations. Ticket holders were informed of the event's cancellation by Platinum List, who also confirmed that all ticket purchases would be refunded automatically within 21 business days. The event has now been deleted from the Coca-Cola Arena's official website. Neither Platinum List UAE, the event organizer, nor the rapper have issued a statement regarding the cancellation on their social media channels.
