The 68-metre superyacht Aviva, built by Abeking & Rasmussen, has undergone a significant refit at Palumbo Superyachts' Marseille facilities in France. This refit represents one of the yard's most substantial projects in the last eight years. Aviva, originally commissioned by British entrepreneur and Tottenham Hotspur owner Joe Lewis, was launched as the flagship of the German shipyard in 2007. It was later sold to a seasoned owner in July 2023, with the sale price undisclosed. The yacht's exterior and interior design was crafted by Reymond Langton.

Palumbo reports that the most demanding aspect of the refit was the exterior, which was repainted to enhance Aviva's original allure and long-term value. Additional works encompassed a thorough restoration of the teak on the exterior decks, refreshed accommodations, and an upgraded galley. Special emphasis was placed on updating the CCTV, AV, and security systems, along with modernizing the navigation systems. Furthermore, Aviva's main engines and diesel generators underwent a comprehensive overhaul, complemented by maintenance on the propellers, hull tanks, forward and aft thrusters, and hydraulic systems.

CEO Antonio Palumbo expressed his pride in the team's commitment and hard work, and extended heartfelt gratitude to the client for their trust. He emphasized that the project's success was achieved through mutual respect and cooperation, and looked forward to future challenges with optimism, aiming to surpass customer expectations. The refit was meticulously coordinated by the shipyard's engineers, technical experts, and Aviva's captain and crew. This Aviva is the predecessor to the 98.4-metre blue-hulled Aviva, also constructed by Abeking & Rasmussen.
