Japanese police reported on Wednesday that they apprehended a man who confessed to unlawfully entering over 1,000 residences as a peculiar method of stress relief.
The 37-year-old suspect was taken into custody on Monday on allegations of trespassing at a property in Dazaifu, located in southern Japan, as confirmed by a police spokesperson to AFP.
According to the Mainichi Shimbun newspaper, the unidentified man stated, 'Breaking into other people's homes is a hobby of mine, and I have done it more than 1,000 times.' He further explained to the police, 'I get so thrilled that my palms sweat when wondering if someone will discover me or not, and it relieves some stress,' as reported by the newspaper.
