British police reported the arrest of a man following a stabbing incident in London's Leicester Square, which is not being considered a terrorist act. Additionally, an 11-year-old girl and a 34-year-old woman were transported to a hospital.

Following several days of unrest earlier this month, sparked by misleading online claims falsely linking the suspected murderer of three girls in northern England to an Islamist migrant, British police forces continue to operate under heightened vigilance.

The police stated that they do not believe there are any additional suspects involved in the Leicester Square attack, a central London location frequented by tourists. A representative from the London Ambulance Service confirmed that the injured parties were taken to a major trauma center after emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at 10:36 GMT.

The police are currently awaiting updates on the condition of the victims.
