On Sunday, the Mumbai Crime Branch apprehended a man in Rajasthan for conspiring to assassinate Bollywood star Salman Khan. The 25-year-old suspect had uploaded a video on the YouTube channel 'Are Chhodo Yar', discussing the Bishnoi Gang's plot against the actor. The arrest occurred in Borda village, Rajasthan, and the suspect was subsequently transported to Mumbai for further interrogation. The case was filed at the South Cyber Police Station in Mumbai under Sections 506(2), 504, 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Section 66(d) of the Information Technology (IT) Act. On June 4, the Mumbai Crime Branch took statements from Salman Khan and his brother Arbaaz Khan regarding a shooting incident outside their Bandra home in April. Salman's statement, which lasted nearly four hours, detailed his presence at home during the incident, having been awakened by the sound of a bullet. He emphasized the gravity of the situation and expressed gratitude to the Mumbai Police for their diligent investigation. The shooting, which happened on April 14 outside Salman's residence at Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai, led to arrests linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, prompting the Mumbai Police to apply the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all implicated in the shooting.
