Italian shipyard Mangusta has unveiled a new 51.1-metre addition to its steel and aluminium displacement Oceano series. Introduced by parent company Overmarine at the Monaco Yacht Show, this latest model was conceived by Overmarine's Engineering Department in collaboration with Alberto Mancini. It boasts a unique pool positioned on the beach club, directly at the water's edge, a first for this series.

The inaugural unit is currently in production at Overmarine's facilities in Pisa, following a comprehensive market analysis on how clients utilize and appreciate their yachts. Building on the success of the smaller Oceano yachts, this new model will serve as the flagship of the series but will not supplant the existing Oceano 50, according to the shipyard.

Key to its design is its positioning just below the 500 GT threshold, with a focus on seamlessly integrating indoor and outdoor spaces through the use of curved glass walls and maintaining uncluttered decks. The yacht will feature Mangusta's customary foredeck pool but distinguishes itself by placing the owner's cabin on the upper deck, freeing up the main deck for two VIP cabins.

“After conducting a thorough market analysis, we opted to redefine our concept in the 500 GT segment, incorporating features never before seen in this yacht class; across all decks, innovation and modularity enable the Owner to experience the lifestyle of a mega yacht,” stated Mangusta's President Americas, Stefano Arlunno.

Several other new models were announced by various shipyards during the Monaco Yacht Show, including presentations by Tankoa and Riva. For those attending the event, the BOAT International team can be found at Stand DS103.
