Ace India shooter Manu Bhaker secured a bronze medal on Sunday in the Women's Air Pistol final at the Paris Olympics 2024, finishing in third place. Bhaker made history as the first woman to win a shooting medal at the Olympics, earning India's first medal in the current mega event with a score of 221.7. This achievement marked a significant comeback for Manu, following a setback with her pistol at the Tokyo Olympics. She also became the first Indian woman in two decades to reach an Olympic shooting final in an individual event since Suma Shirur in 2004. South Korea's Ye Jin won the gold with a new Olympic record of 243.2 points, while her compatriot, Kim Yeji, took silver with 241.3 points. Bhaker had earlier qualified for the final by finishing third in the Women's 10 Metre Air Pistol qualification round on the opening day of the Paris Olympics. Meanwhile, Rhythm Sangwan did not qualify for the finals, placing 15th in the qualifications.
