Meta's founder, Mark Zuckerberg, has been actively working on improving his public image lately. Almost any effort seems to be beneficial. He's made some noticeable changes, such as getting a new haircut, adopting a more relaxed attitude towards his critics, and, as revealed in a recent Instagram post, he now regularly drives a supercharged Cadillac.

In response to a question about his vehicle in the mentioned post, Zuckerberg stated, "Mostly Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing these days, but sometimes other things." However, there's a crucial detail missing: he didn't specify whether his Blackwing is equipped with a manual transmission or not. I'm inclined to believe it's not, but if it is, I might reconsider comparing him to an animatronic the next time I see him on TV.

The Blackwing CT5 recently underwent a refresh and even received a new track package, but it's doubtful that Zuckerberg's car is either of these updated models. Production of the facelifted CT5s, which boast the same 668 horsepower V-8 as the pre-facelift versions, only started recently. Similarly, the Precision Package was announced in late June. The 2025 model-year CT5s are still not available for configuration on Cadillac's website.

It's refreshing to see one of the many tech CEOs/founders with a relatable taste in cars. I suspect most of them either drive electric vehicles or don't drive at all. There's nothing inherently wrong with the latter, it's just the predictable choice. So, the next time you're tempted to call Mark Zuckerberg a cold-blooded reptile, remember that his car is probably cooler than yours. Now, all he needs to do is post a video of him doing a burnout next Fourth of July.
