NetEase Games has revealed that Marvel Rivals has amassed 10 million players globally within the first 72 hours of its launch. The game's official Twitter account expressed its gratitude, stating, "We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you. Let’s ignite the battle together!" Marvel Rivals is a free-to-play, team-based third-person shooter that has been likened to other hero shooters like Overwatch. It showcases iconic Marvel characters such as Iron Man, Doctor Strange, and Black Widow.

Marvel Rivals was released on December 6 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. To mark the game's launch, it has entered Season 0, a condensed season lasting just over a month. This season's battle pass offers 29 rewards, with the premium version costing 490 lattice, approximately $5. Future standard battle passes will be priced at $10, and premium passes will not expire.

At launch, Marvel Rivals boasts 33 playable characters, a significant number compared to similar games. NetEase has assured that its microtransaction model for Marvel Rivals will only include cosmetic items like skins and emotes.
