The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced that Mashreq Metro Station will henceforth be known as InsuranceMarket Metro Station. This station, situated on the Red Line between Mall of The Emirates and Dubai Internet City Metro Stations, is strategically positioned along Sheikh Zayed Road. InsuranceMarket.ae has been a key player in the UAE market since 1995. The new naming of the Metro station will remain in effect for a decade. During the transition period from September to November this year, RTA will update both outdoor signage and the smart and electronic systems of the public transport network, including the audio announcements within metro carriages. Commuters are advised to take note of the name change, and RTA teams are available at the stations to provide any necessary assistance or clarification.

Abdul Mohsen Ibrahim Kalbat, CEO of the Rail Agency at RTA, highlighted that awarding Metro station names to companies is a testament to the successful partnerships with the private sector in fostering economic growth in Dubai. He emphasized that the collaboration with InsuranceMarket.ae exemplifies a successful public-private partnership, contributing to the utilization of RTA’s projects and initiatives, creating job opportunities across various sectors, and enabling the private sector to support the government’s strategic direction. Kalbat also noted that Dubai offers an exceptional platform for companies and entrepreneurs to showcase their brands, with Dubai Metro stations providing a unique and advanced advertising opportunity. This aligns with companies’ objectives to enhance global competitiveness, expand their businesses in Dubai and the UAE, and venture into international markets.

The practice of granting naming rights to Dubai Metro stations has been in place since 2009. Notable examples include the rebranding of Al Safa Metro Station to Onpassive Metro Station in January last year, which is also valid for 10 years. In 2021, Dubai Marina Metro Station was renamed Sobha Realty Metro Station, while Al Jaffliya Station became ‘Max Fashion’ and Al Rashdiya Station was rebranded as ‘Centrepoint’. Several Red Line stations have also been named after corporate entities such as Emirates Airlines, GGICO, and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (formerly Al Karama station).

Avinash Babur, founder and CEO of InsuranceMarket.ae, expressed his gratitude for the awarding of the Metro Station naming rights, stating that having one of Dubai’s iconic metro stations dedicated to InsuranceMarket is a significant milestone. He anticipates that this collaboration will have a positive impact on both residents and visitors to Dubai.
