Meghan Markle is reportedly holding onto her personal memoir as a potential tool for future use, possibly for 'revenge,' according to a royal expert. Earlier this year, the Duchess of Sussex, 43, was rumored to be planning a tell-all book that would delve into the mental health challenges she faced during her time in the palace.

Although there has been no official confirmation from the Sussex camp, royal correspondent and commentator Jennie Bond speculates that the 'Suits' alum might leverage the project to her benefit in the future. 'It’s more than two years since she gave that interview, and she has steered clear of controversy about the royal family since,' Bond told OK!.

'Obviously, the journal she mentioned will remain a potential weapon in her back pocket if she ever feels the need to seek some sort of revenge,' Bond continued. 'But she has behaved with discretion and dignity ever since Oprah and the documentary series. I think she is looking forwards, not backwards and is moving on with her life. So I don’t think we should be raising false alarms about any potential memoir.'

The Post has reached out to Markle’s representatives for comment. Markle previously disclosed her struggles with suicidal thoughts during her time as a royal in the UK, and briefly revisited her experience in a CBS interview in August.

Speculation about Markle’s tell-all book intensified after Prince Harry’s memoir 'Spare' was released in January 2023. The explosive book, which detailed the duke’s experiences within the royal family, became the fastest-selling nonfiction book of all time. However, despite the rumors, a source close to the couple has denied the claims.

If the rumors are true, it wouldn’t be Markle’s first written project. The couple, who married in 2018, signed a lucrative four-book deal with Penguin Random House in 2021. Markle became a published author after releasing her children’s book, 'The Bench,' that same year. Since then, she has launched the podcast 'Archetypes' (which was discontinued by Spotify in June 2023 after 12 episodes) and a lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, which is yet to be launched.
