Mercedes is making significant changes to its lineup for the 2025 model year in the United States. Among the updates, the AMG C-Class, despite its relatively short existence, is receiving notable enhancements. Both the C43 and C63 models now feature the third generation of the MBUX infotainment system and a center airbag between the front seats. Additionally, both models have undergone hardware upgrades.
The 2025 Mercedes-AMG C43 is equipped with an upgraded turbocharged 2.0-liter gasoline engine, now producing 416 horsepower, an increase of 14 hp. Torque remains at 369 lb-ft. The previous model took 4.6 seconds to reach 60 mph, but the updated sports sedan now achieves this in 4.3 seconds. The C63 S offers optional ceramic composite brakes for enhanced stopping power.
For traditionalists, the larger E-Class can now be ordered with rear-wheel drive, positioning it against the BMW 530i. The Mercedes E350, with the same 2.0-liter turbo engine as the 4Matic version, delivers 255 hp and 295 lb-ft. Interestingly, the 6.1-second sprint to 60 mph is identical to the all-wheel-drive model. The RWD variant is priced at $63,600, $2,500 less than the 4Matic, but still over $4,200 more than the 530i.
The C43 isn't the only AMG model to receive a power boost for 2025. The SL43 also sees its four-cylinder engine upgraded to produce 416 hp, a substantial increase of 41 hp over the previous model year. Torque has also improved, rising by 15 lb-ft to 369 lb-ft. This additional power has reduced the sprint time to 4.6 seconds, a two-tenths of a second improvement.
While there was hope for the CLE 63 in the 2025 model year, it won't be arriving just yet. However, the CLE 53 Cabriolet is joining the lineup with an inline-six engine. Meanwhile, Mercedes has teased the next-generation CLA, but the current model remains available for the 2025MY.
