Meta Platforms announced on Monday the launch of a new tool named AI Studio, which empowers users to craft, distribute, and customize personalized AI chatbots.

The AI Studio will enable users to develop unique AI personas and permit Instagram content creators to utilize these AI personas 'as an extension of themselves' to manage routine direct message inquiries and story responses, according to Meta.

Users will be able to share their AI personas across Meta's diverse social media platforms. This new tool is constructed using Meta's Llama 3.1, the most extensive version of its predominantly free artificial intelligence models unveiled last week. These models are accessible in several languages and boast performance benchmarks that rival those of paid models from competitors such as OpenAI.

OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, is engaged in a project dubbed 'Strawberry,' details of which remain closely guarded even within the company, as the startup strives to demonstrate that its models can provide sophisticated reasoning abilities, as exclusively reported by Reuters in early July.
