We've all experienced the frustration of misplacing items – whether it's a phone left behind in a taxi or a wallet forgotten on the dining table amidst the hustle of daily tasks. But imagine discarding a valuable item, thinking it was mere rubbish. What would you do in such a situation?
Devaraj, a resident of Chennai, found himself in a state of panic when he realized that the Rs500,000 (Dh21,940) diamond necklace, a gift from his mother intended for his daughter, was missing. It was even more shocking when he realized he had likely thrown it away with the trash. Fortunately, upon contacting the authorities, they quickly organized a search operation. J. Anthonysamy, a driver from Urbaser Sumeet, the waste management company contracted by the Chennai Corporation, took the lead in the search. The necklace was eventually discovered in a trash can, tangled in a garland of flowers, as reported by Indian media. The necklace has now been happily returned to its relieved owner, Devaraj, who expressed his gratitude to Anthonysamy and his team, as reported by News18.com.
This isn't the only instance of valuable items being misplaced. At Bengaluru airport, a woman lost her diamond ring. Aakanksha Singh shared her experience on X, formerly Twitter, and requested assistance from the authorities, who promptly helped her. Singh later posted a heartfelt thank you note on X, expressing her appreciation: “Today at Kempegowda International Airport (@kempintairprtps) I lost my diamond ring. But with the help of Mr. Rajesh Singh & Mr. Vinay Kumar Rai from @CISFHQrs, I was able to find my ring. All thanks to their coordination and helping nature. Your help is highly appreciated.”
