On the mountainous slope of Hatta Dam, water cascades down a stunning mosaic mural crafted from marble, dedicated to the legacy of UAE's founding fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.
Spanning 2,198.7 square meters amidst the mountains, this vibrant project is the result of a collaboration between Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO), and Dubai's Water and Electricity Authority (Dewa). This Guinness World Record-holding mosaic pane embodies the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform the emirate into an open museum.
A team of 100,000 professionals worked for over four months to complete the mural, which features 1.2 million pieces of natural marble sourced from Hatta and other regions, according to Brand Dubai.
The ZayedAndRashid campaign, launched by Brand Dubai in October, celebrates key national occasions in the UAE. The campaign, in partnership with 16 government, semi-government, and private sector entities, honors the UAE's founding fathers for their pivotal role in establishing the Union and reinforces national identity within UAE society. It also serves as a platform to introduce visitors to the visionary leaders who have profoundly shaped the history and legacy of the UAE.
