The Mumbai civic authority has urged residents to stay indoors unless absolutely necessary, following an orange alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) for the city, forecasting heavy to very heavy rainfall on Saturday.

An orange alert has also been issued for Thane, Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, and Sindhudurg districts in Maharashtra's Konkan region. This morning, parts of Mumbai experienced heavy rain, leading to waterlogging and traffic congestion in various areas. Mumbai has been grappling with heavy rains over the past few days, with the IMD reporting 61.69 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.

Authorities have issued a 'high tide' warning of 3.69 metres in Mumbai at 4.39 pm today. The IMD predicts that the maximum and minimum temperatures will hover around 29℃ and 24℃, respectively.

Meanwhile, parts of Delhi also faced rain on Saturday morning, causing waterlogging and traffic jams. However, the rain provided some relief from the July heat. Neighboring Noida also experienced morning rain. The IMD forecasts isolated rainfall throughout the day in the national capital. It also stated that Delhi and Noida are likely to see cloudy skies and light thunderstorms on Saturday and Sunday.

The IMD anticipates light rain to continue in Delhi and Noida until July 17. Due to the rain, the water levels in the Yamuna River are expected to rise, prompting authorities to alert residents of villages in Noida along the riverbanks. These villages suffered severe flooding during last year's monsoon season, causing significant disruption to residents of both Delhi and Noida.
