A NASA astronaut, who was hospitalized upon returning from the International Space Station due to an unspecified medical condition, was discharged on Saturday in 'good health,' according to the US space agency. The four-member Crew-8 mission landed off the coast of Florida on Friday morning after nearly eight months aboard the orbital laboratory. NASA did not disclose which astronaut was hospitalized or the reason, citing medical privacy. However, the agency stated in a blog post that the crew member has returned to the Johnson Space Center in Houston 'in good health' and will resume normal post-flight reconditioning with other crew members.

During the return journey to Earth, the SpaceX Dragon performed a standard re-entry and splashdown, and the recovery of the crew and spacecraft proceeded without incident, according to NASA. However, during routine medical assessments on the recovery ship, an 'additional evaluation of the crew members was requested out of an abundance of caution,' the agency added, without providing further details. NASA astronauts Matthew Dominick, Michael Barratt, and Jeanette Epps, along with Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexander Grebenkin, were all transported to Ascension Sacred Heart Pensacola. Three of them were subsequently released, while one remained at the hospital 'under observation as a precautionary measure.'
