The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued an orange alert on Monday, August 19, due to ongoing dusty and windy conditions. The weather department warned of fresh winds reaching 40kmph, which could cause blowing dust and sand, and advised of potential visibility drops below 3000 metres in internal areas until 11am.

Additionally, a yellow alert was issued for similar wind conditions and rough seas in the Oman Sea and Arabian Gulf, with waves up to six feet, effective until 1pm. On Sunday, a yellow alert was also issued for winds potentially reaching 50kmph, causing dust and sand.

Today, residents should anticipate a partly cloudy day, which may become fully cloudy in southern and eastern areas, with possible rain on the east coast due to low cloud formation. Temperatures are expected to peak at 43ºC in Abu Dhabi and 41ºC in Dubai, with a low of 2ºC in the mountains.

Light to moderate winds, occasionally freshening, are forecasted to affect the country, particularly in the northern and eastern regions, stirring up dust and sand. The sea conditions are predicted to be slight to moderate, occasionally rough in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
