The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued an orange alert on Tuesday, August 6, due to anticipated thunderstorms and blowing dust or sand. Additionally, an orange alert was issued as wind and rough seas conditions persist. This morning, several wadis in various regions experienced overflow due to heavy rainfall. Videos shared by Storm Centre depict the situation:
The weather department issued an orange alert today, informing residents of potential rainfall due to the formation of convective clouds. Fresh winds of up to 40 kmph are expected to affect eastern, southern, and inland areas until 7pm on Wednesday. The meteorological department also noted that the Oman Sea will experience fresh winds up to 45 kmph, along with rough seas where waves could reach seven feet at times. The warning, issued at 1am and valid until 6pm today, advises caution for outdoor activities.
Today, UAE residents can anticipate a partly cloudy to cloudy day, which may become dusty at times. There is also a possibility of rainfall in eastern and southern areas. Light to moderate winds, occasionally freshening, are expected to cause dust and sand, potentially reducing horizontal visibility. Temperatures are forecasted to reach 41℃ in Abu Dhabi and 42℃ in Dubai. Humidity levels could drop to 15 percent in the mountains and rise to 80 percent in coastal areas and islands. The sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and rough to moderate in the Oman Sea.
