The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) issued a yellow alert on Saturday, August 10, due to rough seas and strong winds blowing in a northeasterly direction, reaching speeds of up to 40kmph.

The weather department reported that the Arabian Gulf will experience rough seas with waves up to seven feet high. This warning is in effect until 8am today, urging caution for outdoor activities.

Today, most residents of the UAE can expect a fair to partly cloudy day, which may become dusty at times. NCM also noted a possibility of rainfall in some eastern and southern areas, caused by convective clouds.

On Friday, August 9, NCM had issued a yellow warning for thunderstorms and rain, triggered by cumulonimbus clouds, lasting until 8pm.

Despite forecasts of potential rain in certain areas, temperatures are set to increase today, with highs reaching 49℃ in Mezaira, Gasyoura, and Al Quaa. In Abu Dhabi and Dubai, temperatures will peak at 46℃ and 44℃, respectively, while dropping to 22℃ in the mountains. Humidity levels will be as low as 15% in the mountains and as high as 85% in coastal areas and islands.

Light to moderate winds, occasionally strengthening, are expected to blow across the country, causing dust and sand. The sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea will be slight to moderate.
