Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Sunday, for the first time publicly, that he had authorized a September assault on Hezbollah, resulting in the detonation of hundreds of communication devices across Lebanon.

"Netanyahu confirmed on Sunday that he approved the pager operation in Lebanon," stated his spokesman Omer Dostri in an interview with AFP. This operation led to the deaths of nearly 40 individuals and injured close to 3,000, preceding Israel's current military campaign in Lebanon.
