Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday said Iranian-backed groups who attempted to assassinate him and his wife would face a severe penalty, following reports that a drone targeted his residence in Caesarea.
"Iran's proxies who tried to assassinate me and my wife today made a grave error," said Netanyahu, whose office confirmed he was not present during the incident. A drone was reportedly launched towards Netanyahu's home in the northern Israeli town of Caesarea on Saturday, according to his spokesman, who also noted that the prime minister was not in the vicinity and there were no casualties.
