Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the completion of new dedicated and shared 4-kilometer tracks for bicycles and e-scooters in Hatta. The project includes the construction of two rest areas, boosting the total track length in Hatta by 50% to 13.5 kilometers. A 2.2-kilometer walking track has also been completed alongside the new cycling paths.

The cycling track commences at the rear of Hatta Community Centre, traverses the existing pedestrian bridge at Leem Lake, and connects with the existing track in Wadi Hatta Park. It further links to the Hatta Guest House area and merges with the existing track at Hatta Police Roundabout, extending to Hatta Sports Club and then branching into shared tracks with existing streets in the Almasiaf area near Al-Salmi.

Hussain Al Banna, CEO of Traffic and Roads Agency at RTA, highlighted that the project aims to integrate transport elements such as cycling tracks, pedestrian crossings, rest areas, shaded paths, landscaping, and parking facilities for rented private vehicles and bike racks. Additionally, a parking lot at Wadi Leem Lake, capable of accommodating 135 vehicles, has been paved, and the connecting gravel road to the main street has been upgraded.

To enhance safety for road users in Hatta, traffic and directional signs have been installed at various locations, including entrances to Leem Lake. Recently, RTA completed the construction of Hatta Souq Roundabout on Dubai-Hatta Road, facilitating smoother entry and exit from the Souq and reducing travel distance by 60%. A U-turn on Dubai-Hatta Road near Wadi Hub was also completed to improve vehicle access at tourist and vital sites, thereby enhancing traffic safety in Hatta.
