A new bridge has been inaugurated on Al Khail Road between the intersections of Al Khamila and Hessa Street, according to the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), which announced this on Monday. The aim is to ease traffic towards Deira. The two-lane bridge, located between the intersections of Al Khamila and Hessa Street, can handle up to 3,200 vehicles per hour. Additionally, improvements to the surface roads spanning 900 metres were also part of the project.

The 700-metre bridge is designed to "enhance traffic from Jumeirah Village Circle to Al Khail Road towards Deira, connecting residential and development areas to achieve transport efficiency," as stated by the RTA. On September 15, the RTA opened two new bridges in Dubai, part of the Garn Al Sabkha-Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road Intersection Improvement Project. This initiative is expected to reduce travel time for motorists by up to 70 per cent, according to Mattar Al Tayer, the director-general and chairman of the Board of Executive Directors at RTA.
