Prepare for an exciting new challenge in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2's Operation mode with the introduction of Lethal difficulty. This is one of the major enhancements included in patch 4.0.
The update, now available, also brings a fresh Operation called Termination, set on the planet Kadaku, where players can test the Lethal difficulty. Expect more formidable, enraged Majoris enemies; reduced ammo crate refills; and the need to perform finishers near squadmates for armor restoration.
Photo mode is another addition, though it's only functional in solo Operations. Notably, space marines will now look at the camera as it moves. Patch 4.0 also introduces gameplay adjustments, more customization options, and other enhancements.
Last month's significant patch for Space Marine 2 included ultrawide PC support and private lobbies for PvE in Operation mode. The game has already surpassed Warhammer franchise records, and developer Saber Interactive has discussed how Space Marine 2 can thrive without extraordinary sales figures.

Note from the devs: "With Patch 3, Operations mode became noticeably easier, particularly Chaos operations. We are more satisfied with the current state compared to the release version, as Chaos missions were unpopular before Patch 3. However, we believe Operations mode is currently too easy. These changes aim to make Operations mode harder, though it's challenging to quantify by how much. We will continue to monitor and adjust the balance of Operations mode. This is not the final change."
