Dubai's cultural landscape is set to expand with the addition of New Covent Garden at Mall of the Emirates. This innovative arts and entertainment hub, brought to life by Majid Al Futtaim, promises to deliver a comprehensive and vibrant experience for both UAE residents and visitors. Slated to open in the first quarter of 2025, New Covent Garden will feature a variety of world-class performances, training sessions, and cultural activities.
At the core of New Covent Garden is a state-of-the-art, 575-seat theatre, accompanied by a Black Box Theatre, ten dance and rehearsal studios, a dedicated yoga and Pilates area, and a bustling restaurant. This versatile venue is designed to accommodate a wide array of performances, ranging from celebrated West End musicals and operas to ballet, comedy shows, and family-oriented productions. Both international celebrities and local talents will grace the stage, offering diverse entertainment that mirrors Dubai’s rich multicultural tapestry.
Leading the artistic direction are entertainment industry stalwarts Lisa Scott-Lee, an international pop sensation from STEPS, and Johnny Shentall-Lee, a renowned creative director and original cast member of Footloose the Musical. New Covent Garden will also cater to UAE residents with live performances and shows, aiming to satisfy the region’s increasing demand for cultural engagement and community-driven initiatives. In partnership with Live Nation Middle East, the venue will kick off its inaugural show in 2025, paving the way for an extensive lineup of performances that will appeal to both local audiences and international tourists.
Through New Covent Garden, Majid Al Futtaim seeks to enhance Dubai’s status as a global cultural hub, celebrating the performing arts and fostering artistic development across all age groups.
