Newly released footage from Thursday reveals the suspect in the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson exiting a Manhattan subway station just 30 minutes before the fatal shooting. The alleged gunman, accused of executing the executive on a Midtown street, was captured leaving what seems to be the 57th Street station around 6:15 a.m. in surveillance video obtained from a cigar store on Sixth Avenue.
Authorities had earlier released images of the hooded individual at a Starbucks counter on West 56th Street and Sixth Avenue, a short distance from the Hilton hotel where Thompson, 50, was shot at close range. The NYPD also shared surveillance photos showing the suspect smiling broadly, with a black mask dangling from his chin and wearing attire similar to that of the shooter outside the luxury hotel. Police reported that the gunman fired several shots before making a hasty escape on foot and later using an e-bike to complete his getaway.
