A forthcoming Hunger Games novel, titled Sunrise on the Reaping, is slated for release in 2025. Authored by Suzanne Collins, the original writer of the Hunger Games series, this new book will subsequently be transformed into a film. As reported by Variety, the cinematic adaptation is anticipated to hit theaters in 2026. Fans were recently treated to the Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, last November. Lionsgate hinted at the possibility of additional installments in the franchise, with Adam Fogelson, chairman of the studio’s motion picture group, expressing to Variety the vast narrative potential opened by the film. Francis Lawrence is currently in discussions to helm the project. The prequel is set in the fictional realm of Panem, 24 years prior to the events of the Hunger Games series and 40 years after The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
