Activision has unveiled the exciting additions coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 in its Season 1 update, featuring several new melee weapons, including a power drill. According to Activision, this two-hit-kill melee weapon is highly effective at extremely close range and boasts a rapid attack speed. It offers various attack options such as sweeps, jabs, uppercuts, and a powerful heavy attack when used directly. 'This weapon is perfect for making a significant impact in intense situations,' Activision stated.
The power drill can be obtained through an event reward during Season 1, although Activision has not specified the exact method of unlocking it. The drill has 30 levels and mastery badges, along with customization options for unique skins. Despite the gruesome nature of a death by power drill, no gameplay footage has been released yet.
Another new melee weapon introduced in Black Ops 6 Season 1 is the cleaver. This one-hit-kill weapon is effective at both short and medium ranges, with a moderate attack speed. The cleaver can eliminate multiple enemies in one go and features a particularly devastating heavy attack. It can be swung from side to side or used head-on. While it is unclear if the cleaver can be thrown, it seems unlikely.
Similar to the power drill, the cleaver has 30 levels and mastery badges, and can be customized with skins. It will also be unlocked as an event reward. In addition to these new melee weapons, Season 1 introduces Peter Stormare's The Replacer as a playable operator, along with new maps, modes, and weapons, as well as a new Warzone map, Area 99.
