Focus Entertainment has released a new patch for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, introducing ultrawide support for PC and private lobbies for PvE in Operation mode. This update also includes a new special sparring stage designed for players to engage in friendly battles with their friends.

The new stage, known as the Hub Sparring Arena, is accessible in the Battle Barge for both Operations and Eternal War modes. It serves as a pre-mission arena where players can test their skills against friends. Additionally, the private lobbies feature allows players to team up with bots or a specific friend, rather than being paired with random players.

Other enhancements in this patch include an option to reset custom color presets and adjustments to the Veteran difficulty. Player health has been slightly reduced, but enemy aggressiveness has also been toned down for this difficulty level during campaign missions.

Space Marine 2 has already set new records for the Warhammer franchise, and this success could pose challenges for developer Saber Interactive. However, CEO Tim Willits remains optimistic, stating that their success will lead to even better products in the future. This could potentially include story DLC for Space Marine 2 or even a sequel, Space Marine 3.

In the near future, Focus and Saber aim to provide more customization options for players, such as the ability to customize the bottom and top halves of the legs separately. Further enhancements, including face customization, additional decals and colors, and AI squadmate customization, are also being considered.
