A fresh initiative has been introduced to facilitate public input on naming roads and streets throughout Dubai. The Street Designation Proposal is being led by the Dubai Road Naming Committee, operating under the auspices of Dubai Municipality. This initiative is designed to enhance community involvement in proposing names for streets and roads within the emirate.
The objective is to revitalize traditional names, emphasize national identity, and showcase the social and cultural traits that mirror the emirate's historical background, heritage, values, and its rich social and cultural tapestry, while aligning with future developmental and directional strategies.
“The new platform operates as a digital system, enabling the public to propose names for streets and roads across Dubai,” stated Dawoud Al Hajri, Director General of Dubai Municipality. “It adheres to a holistic approach and specific criteria that echo our identity and the interconnectedness of Dubai's past, present, and future.”
