Abu Dhabi Mobility revealed on Wednesday the installation of two new recycling units in Al Ain and Al Dhafra. These units, placed at major bus stations, accept empty plastic bottles. Residents can accumulate points by recycling through these devices. To collect points, they need to download the Cycled Rewards app. Each 600ml bottle earns one point, while larger bottles grant two points. Every ten points are equivalent to one dirham, which is credited to the Hafilat card used for public transport payments in Abu Dhabi. This initiative, in partnership with the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi and Cycled Technologies, focuses on smart recycling stations and reverse vending machines (RVM) deployment. Introduced in 2022 by Abu Dhabi Mobility, formerly the Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), the program continues to expand.
