A new special-edition Subaru BRZ has arrived, named the Series.Purple. This model features several STI-branded enhancements and, as expected, an exclusive dark purple paint job. Only 500 units will be produced, all equipped with six-speed manual transmissions. The color is known as Galaxy Purple Pearl, complemented by 18-inch alloy wheels painted in satin silver and wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tires. Inside, the cabin boasts contrast gray stitching on the steering wheel, door cards, and shifter boot, along with STI badges on the starter button and shift knob.
Mechanically, the BRZ Series.Purple remains identical to the standard model, offering 228 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque from a naturally aspirated flat-four engine. Notably, the six-speed automatic transmission is not available for this trim. Additional changes include STI-designed flexible V-bars in the engine bay for improved torsional rigidity and an STI short-throw shifter for the six-speed manual. Based on the Limited trim, the Series.Purple also includes features such as heated exterior mirrors, an upgraded audio system, blind-spot detection, lane-keep assist, and steering-responsive headlights as standard.
Priced at $36,615, including a destination charge of $1,170, the BRZ Series.Purple costs just $1,700 more than the equivalent six-speed Limited model. Given its exclusive color, limited production, and performance-oriented upgrades, this special edition represents a compelling value.
