In the world of the internet, it was only a matter of time before details about an upcoming, highly secretive Nintendo Switch Online playtest were leaked. This has apparently occurred even before the event officially kicks off. The program is said to involve players exploring a brand-new MMO project from Nintendo, centered around building and developing a planet collaboratively.

According to Vooks.net, those chosen for the Nintendo Switch Online playtest can now visit a dedicated website for more information on the upcoming experience, which is scheduled to run from October 23 to November 5. The game appears to be somewhat reminiscent of a Minecraft MMO, where players gather resources and construct structures on a shared planet. Beacons are reportedly a crucial element; once placed on the planet, only the player who set them can modify or build within that specific area. It's advised that players store their valuable items within their beacon zones. Outside these zones, everyone has the ability to edit and engage with enemies.

Additionally, there will be a social area known as the Dev Core, where the atmosphere is more relaxed, allowing players to interact with others. This is also where players must go to level up their characters, with the leveling system revolving around placing and developing beacons. Despite the project being visually similar to Pushmo from a Nintendo perspective, there is still no official name associated with it, and it appears to be a brand-new IP. The identity of the developer behind this game remains unknown.

Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack recently celebrated its third anniversary and hinted at new content on the horizon for premium subscribers. This anticipation will soon be fulfilled, as Banjo-Tooie is set to arrive for members this Friday, October 25.
