Nintendo has revealed plans to conduct a Nintendo Switch Online playtest for an upcoming feature. Interested participants can register from October 10 to October 15. The playtest will run from October 23 to November 5, and only those with an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership are eligible. Additionally, applicants must be at least 18 years old and have their Nintendo accounts registered in Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, or Spain.
To join the playtest, interested individuals need to apply via the "To Application Page" link on the playtest page. If there are too many applicants from Japan, participants will be selected through a raffle. For other regions, selection will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Nintendo anticipates accepting up to 10,000 participants for this test.
The nature of the new feature remains undisclosed, sparking speculation among fans about potential additions such as online battling and trading for older Pokemon games, early access, or an achievement system.
