Nissan has a trim line in Australia known as Warrior. This is an all-terrain upgrade currently available for the Navara and Patrol models, and there are hints that it might be extended to the Z sports car. The automaker recently filed a trademark with IP Australia for the Z Warrior name.

A high-riding version of the Z wouldn't be unprecedented. Porsche has the 911 Dakar, and Lamborghini introduced the Huracan Sterrato, so why shouldn't the Z join the party? Nissan teased us last year with the Safari Rally Z Tribute, which drew inspiration from the Datsun 240Z that won the 1971 East African Safari Rally.

Tommy Pike Customs created the concept, which featured a two-inch ride height increase over the standard car, along with 17-inch prototype Nismo Safari wheels and Yokohama Geolander M/T G003 tires. Additional lighting on the hood, lower bumper, and A-pillars enhanced its rally-ready appearance. The concept also boasted a tuned twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 engine that delivered over 400 horsepower.

Sports cars aren't typically big sellers, and a rugged Z would be even more specialized, but it would be thrilling to see another high-riding sports car added to the lineup. It would likely come with features like a raised suspension, underbody protection, new bumpers, and more, similar to other Warrior models.

While Nissan is considering expanding the Warrior line in Australia, it hasn't confirmed whether this will include its sports car. If Nissan does enhance the Z for off-road duty, we hope they consider exporting it here as well.
