Nissan has introduced a series of updates for the 2025 Frontier, enhancing the mid-size pickup truck with a refreshed front design, updated trim options, additional features, and for the first time, wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The vehicle's front end has been squared off, particularly noticeable where the grille meets the lower fascia. The Frontier branding has been removed from the top of the grille, and the PRO-X and PRO-4X models now feature a striking plastic trim across the tailgate. These off-road-oriented models also boast new stylish wheels, while all Frontier models have received redesigned interior trim. For those looking to make a statement, the Afterburn Orange exterior paint is a new option for 2025.
The 2025 Frontier also sees an increase in standard equipment, with SV trim levels and above now including a 12.3-inch infotainment screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a six-way power driver's seat. SV models come standard with 17-inch wheels, and all Frontiers now feature a tilt/telescoping steering wheel and a sliding rear window. Additional modifications include the introduction of a Crew Cab long-wheelbase option for PRO-4X and SL trim levels, which includes a six-foot bed. Nissan's Intelligent Around View camera system now operates in Off-Road Mode at speeds up to 12 mph. A range of driver assistance features are now standard, such as lane departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and blind-spot warnings.
The towing capacity for all Frontiers has been increased by 500 pounds, reaching a maximum of 7,150 pounds depending on the trim level and selected equipment. Nissan has not specified any changes to the powertrain or suspension to support this increased towing capacity. The Frontier continues to use a 3.8-liter V-6 engine producing 310 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque, paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission. A Nissan representative confirmed that additional testing was conducted to ensure the Frontier's capability to handle the increased towing capacity. Pricing for the 2025 Frontier is expected to be announced before the end of summer, with a slight increase anticipated from the 2024 model's base price of $32,020.
