Noah Lyles of the United States emerged victorious in a thrilling and dramatic men's Olympic 100 metres final, clocking 9.79 seconds on Sunday. Kishane Thompson of Jamaica secured the silver with the same timing, while Fred Kerley of the U.S. took bronze in 9.81. This marked the first American win since Justin Gatlin in 2004. Lyles triumphantly raised his arms to the roaring crowd at the Stade de France as his name topped the standings. Despite a slower start from the blocks, he accelerated through the finish, winning by a mere five thousandths of a second.
