*BRRRAAAAHHHHMMM* Did you catch that? It's the sound of the new Christopher Nolan movie casting alarm — and it just went off again! Since the Oscar-winning director set his next project at Universal last month, the stars have been flocking to join Nolan's latest blockbuster at an astonishing pace. Overnight, news broke via THR that Robert Pattinson, who starred in Nolan's 'Tenet,' has just been added to the already impressive lineup for Nolan's latest, shrouded in secrecy.
Pattinson, currently filming 'The Drama' with Zendaya, will reunite with his co-star from that film in Nolan's 13th movie. They'll be joining previously announced cast members Tom Holland, Matt Damon, Lupita Nyong'o, and Anne Hathaway. While the exact plot of Nolan's new movie remains a mystery (vampire period piece, 'Blue Thunder' homage, or something entirely different?), THR's sources indicate that Pattinson will share co-lead duties with Damon, Holland, and Hathaway. Nyong'o and Zendaya are expected to take on supporting roles.
Written and directed by Nolan, who's producing alongside his wife and producing partner Emma Thomas, this untitled Universal film promises to be another grand IMAX spectacle. IMAX CEO Richard Gelfond recently revealed in a Variety-covered earnings call that Nolan plans to experiment with 'new IMAX technology' and 'never-before-used equipment' in his latest project. Whether it's vampires, helicopters, or something else entirely, you can bet it'll be massive! But given Pattinson's past roles as a vampire and a bat, would it be too obvious for Nolan to cast him as a vampire again? We'll find out on 17 July, 2026.
