Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo expressed his pride in his team's performance, despite significant injuries to key players, as they secured their first victory at Anfield since 1969 by defeating Liverpool 1-0 in the Premier League on Saturday. Callum Hudson-Odoi came off the bench to score the decisive goal, enhancing the squad's unbeaten run in the league this year, which now stands at two wins and two draws.

"Very pleased. Many of our fans today in the stadium weren't even born in 1969. That speaks volumes about how challenging it is to play here," Espirito Santo told reporters. "Proud of how we played as a team... it's all about seizing your opportunities at the right time, and we did just that."

Forest were forced to play without their two starting midfielders, as Danilo sustained a broken ankle last month against Bournemouth, and Ibrahim Sangare suffered a hamstring injury. Centre-back Willy Boly was also sidelined with a calf injury.

"Regrettably, Ibrahim Sangare will be out for a while," Espirito Santo said. "I wish we had everyone fit. Unfortunately, we're missing three players... we must be prepared for anything." Espirito Santo also mentioned that Forest played central midfielders Nicolas Dominguez and Elliott Anderson as wingers to counter Liverpool's full-backs.

"It's about constructing and believing in this concept that you can evolve," he added. Forest, who finished 17th last season, will next visit Brighton next Sunday.
