On Saturday, the National Testing Agency (NTA) published the state-wise and centre-wise results of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2024 on its official website. Following a directive from the Supreme Court on July 18, the NTA was instructed to release the NEET-UG results by July 20. Candidates can access and download their results from the official website. The Supreme Court, comprising Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud and Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, mandated that the results be published separately, city-wise and centre-wise, by 12 noon on Saturday. This directive was issued in response to student petitioners urging the court to ensure transparency by having the testing agency publish the results of all students. The court ordered the NTA to publish the marks obtained by students in the NEET-UG 2024 exam while masking their identities, and to declare the results separately for each centre and city. The court will continue to hear petitions regarding alleged paper leaks and malpractices in the NEET-UG 2024 exams on July 22. The NEET-UG examination, administered by the NTA, is the gateway to admissions for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other related courses in government and private institutions nationwide. The NEET-UG 2024 exam was conducted at 4,750 centres on May 5, with approximately 24 lakh candidates participating. During the court hearing, the Supreme Court questioned the NTA about alleged paper leaks and malpractices in the NEET exam. The National Testing Agency has faced significant criticism, resulting in numerous protests and legal actions.
