In the UAE, every employee must possess a labour card, which is either issued by the free zone they are employed in or by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE). This card functions as an official employment certificate and a crucial form of identification. It includes vital information such as your job title, employer details, and the expiration date of your work permit. Without a valid labour card, working legally in the UAE is not possible. The labour card is essential not only for residents but also for individuals participating in the country's visa amnesty program, which extends until October 30. Within the first two weeks of the program, over 4,000 individuals have already been interviewed by various companies. Those who secure employment through this initiative will require a labour card to commence legal work. Apart from ensuring adherence to employment laws, having a labour card provides a sense of security, confirming that you are legally employed. Although the UAE no longer issues physical labour cards, you can conveniently download and print a copy if you prefer. While the digital version may be more convenient for some, others might find a physical copy more practical. Here's how to obtain yours:
Mohre Website
Visit the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) website at mohre.gov.ae.
Click on 'Services' at the top of the site.
From the menu, choose 'New Enquiry Services.'
You will be redirected to https://inquiry.mohre.gov.ae/.
In the 'Choose a Service' option, select 'Print Electronic Work Permit.'
Enter the necessary details such as your work permit number, transaction number, person code, and date of birth.
After filling in the required information, click 'Search.'
Upon clicking 'Search,' you will be directed to your electronic labour card.
If you wish to obtain a physical copy, select the 'Print' option.
Mohre App
Log in to your Mohre app using your UAE Pass.
Tap 'Employee.'
Enter your labour card number.
Once you have entered your labour card number, the app will display your labour card.
You can then choose to print it by tapping 'Print.'
Finding Your Labour Information
If you are uncertain about your labour information, you can contact Mohre at 600590000. When you call, you will need to provide your Emirates ID number for verification. Upon confirmation, they will provide all your labour details over the phone. Alternatively, you can log in to the Mohre app and access the 'Dashboard.' Most of your information will be available there, but your transaction number will not be displayed. To find that, you will need to refer to your employment contract.
