A year after Oceanco unveiled its 80-metre Simply Custom series, the Dutch shipyard showcased fresh interior designs from five studios at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The series, comprising 17 individual yachts, was designed to streamline the commissioning process, offering clients a proven naval platform by Lateral Naval Architects, a distinct exterior character customizable by the owner, and a fully custom interior. The new interiors were created by studios such as Burdifilek, Dasha Moranova Designs, Liaigre, Luca Dini, and Francois Zuretti, aiming to cater to a variety of aesthetic preferences.
Oceanco’s marketing director, Paris Baloumis, expressed satisfaction with the adaptability of the Simply Custom offering, stating, "We are thrilled to present this new perspective from these talented interior designers, reflecting a genuine interest in this approach and its continuous evolution."
Burdifilek’s design focuses on connecting guests with the outdoors through interior shapes and furniture placement, using rich woods and textured stones to create warmth and contrast. Diego Burdi and Paul Filek of Burdifilek emphasized their intention to create a design language that mirrors the exterior strength and elegance of Pegasus by Oceanco.
Dasha Moranova Designs introduced a streamlined, flexible approach to interior design, allowing for easy personalization without altering the core structure. The studio partnered with Bozca Limitless Design to create an interior that complements the exterior design of Aurai, redefining oceanic luxury.
Studio Liaigre’s design, originally conceived for MTT Voyageur by Messerschmitt Yachts, was adapted to work with various Simply Custom exterior designs, focusing on creating a living space suitable for diverse activities.
Luca Dini expanded the beach club area to its full potential, creating a two-level space that not only connects guests with the sea but also offers versatile usage. The second level mimics the ambiance of exclusive Côte d'Azur beach clubs, with an integrated interior and panoramic terraces.
François Zuretti & Sébastien Gey of Zuretti Design explored the relationship between the inside and outside in their project Terra, using organic shapes and natural materials to create a seamless transition between spaces.
Oceanco’s approach to simplifying the yacht commissioning process was first introduced at the 2023 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, collaborating with renowned designers like Espen Øino, Harrison Eidsgaard, Sinot, and Nuvolari Lenard. Each yacht in the series measures 80 metres and ranges between 2,500 to 2,700 GT, fitting into Oceanco’s strategic market positioning.
Marcel Onkenhout, Oceanco’s CEO, emphasized that while the company aims to simplify the yacht-building process, it will continue to offer fully custom "landmark" projects, ensuring that the Simply Custom series complements their full-custom yachts and Life Cycle Support refit service.
