Earlier this year, Overwatch 2 introduced only a few new character costumes for the Transformers crossover event. However, following the recent teaser for the Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration, Blizzard has announced that six Overwatch 2 heroes will receive Avatar-inspired outfits this time. The heroes who will don these costumes were revealed via Overwatch's official website.
Blizzard encouraged fans to "get the gaang back together" with a playful nod to the main character from The Last Airbender. The company also released a new animated trailer that beautifully merges the two universes in a fun and engaging way. The Overwatch 2 X Avatar: The Last Airbender collaboration will take place from December 17 to December 30.
During the event, players can unlock Mei's Katara skin for free by completing specific challenges. Additionally, gamers will have the chance to earn player icons, themed sprays, and voice lines that reflect the wisdom and iconic moments from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Overwatch 2 Season 14 kicked off earlier this week, introducing a new character named Hazard, a tank hero capable of creating artificial walls in battles.
Season 14 also brings back the Winter Wonderland event, featuring Mei's Snowball Offensive and Freezethaw Elimination, which will run until January 6. Furthermore, Season 14 will temporarily reintroduce 6v6 player matches as a test. Later in the season, there will be another 6v6 test that will restore the classic 2-2-2 role composition with some additional tweaks.
