Seven years have passed since Paddington 2 captivated audiences and briefly achieved a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Now, it's time for Paddington to return home in the latest trailer for Paddington in Peru. However, Paddington's plans for a simple family reunion with his Aunt Lucy quickly evolve into an adventurous quest with his human family, the Browns.
Despite knowing that Paddington and the Browns were on their way for a visit, Aunt Lucy has left her retirement home for bears. The only two humans with any knowledge of Lucy's whereabouts don't seem very reliable. Hunter Cabot (Antonio Banderas) introduces himself as a friend and guide for the Brown family, informing them that the search for Lucy might lead them to El Dorado, the legendary lost city of gold. Yet, Hunter's menacing behavior towards Paddington in the trailer hints at an impending betrayal.
Meanwhile, the Reverend Mother, portrayed by Oscar-winner Olivia Colman, may have her own hidden agenda. She is equipped with an unusually high-tech tracking system for a simple nun and won't be left behind. As for the numerous dancing nuns in the trailer, we're not yet ready to speculate on that.
Ben Whishaw reprises his voice role as Paddington Brown, with Imelda Staunton voicing Aunt Lucy. Hugh Bonneville also stars as Henry Brown alongside The Mandalorian's Emily Mortimer as Mary Brown, Madeleine Harris as Judy Brown, Samuel Joslin as Jonathan Brown, and Jim Broadbent as Samuel Gruber.
Paddington in Peru will hit theaters in the United Kingdom on November 8. However, fans in America will need to wait until January 17, 2025.
