On Monday, the illustrious career of Padraig Harrington, a three-time Major champion, will be celebrated with his induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame. Harrington will be the third Irishman to receive this honor, following Joe Carr and Christy O'Connor Sr. The ceremony is scheduled at Pinehurst Resort & Country Club in North Carolina, coinciding with the 124th US Open. With 36 official wins globally, including three Majors and a Senior Major, Harrington was also named the PGA Tour Player of the Year in 2008 and led the European Ryder Cup team in 2020. His long-time coach, Peter Cowen, praised Harrington's dedication and competitiveness at 52 years old across various tours. Harrington expressed his humility and pride at being recognized among golf legends. Joining him in the Class of 2024 are Tom Weiskopf, Sandra Palmer, Johnny Farrell, and Beverly Hanson, alongside the LPGA Founders.
