ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Minister for Industries and Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, met with Saudi Arabia’s Governor of the Small and Medium Enterprises General Authority, Sami bin Ibrahim Al-Husseini, on Thursday, agreeing to boost cooperation in the SME sector between the two nations.

Hussain traveled to the Kingdom this week to participate in the two-day UN Multilateral Industrial Policy Forum held in Riyadh from October 23-24.

During his visit, the Pakistani minister interacted with international delegates to explore strategies for fostering industrial growth and sustainable practices. On Thursday, he held a meeting with the Saudi governor for small and medium enterprises in Riyadh, as confirmed by Pakistan’s Ministry of Industries and Production.

“Both parties discussed issues of common interest,” the statement noted. “Collaboration among small and medium enterprises will be expanded.”

The ministry also mentioned that both sides agreed to increase the frequency of business professional visits between their countries.

Pakistan has been actively working to fortify trade and investment relations, especially with the Kingdom, which reaffirmed its commitment this year to accelerate a $5 billion investment package for the South Asian nation.
