Pakistan expressed its solidarity with Bangladesh on Wednesday, following the prime minister's departure amid prolonged protests and civil strife.
"We are certain that the enduring spirit and unity of the Bangladeshi people will guide them to a peaceful future," the Pakistani foreign ministry stated, recalling Bangladesh's independence from Pakistan in 1971.
