The developer of the Palm Jebel Ali project announced on Monday that the first eight fronds are anticipated to be ready for construction by the first quarter of 2025. This milestone will enable the initiation of villa infrastructure and civil works. Nakheel also disclosed that it has awarded a Dh810-million contract for marine works on Palm Jebel Ali, which includes dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling, and sand placement to support villa construction across all fronds.

Nakheel stated that Jan De Nul Dredging, which has already begun mobilisation activities, is expected to complete all marine works within two years. Additionally, work has started on a new public access road that will link the project to Sheikh Zayed Road. Last year, Palm Jebel Ali released over 700 units of Phase 1 frond villas, which sold out rapidly, attracting long lines of property brokers and investors.

The ongoing infrastructure and marine works are crucial for the timely delivery of these homes, slated for completion in late 2026. Upon completion, the island will extend 13.4km, with 16 fronds and 91km of beachfront. This palm-shaped artificial archipelago, which is twice the size of Palm Jumeirah, is designed to accommodate approximately 35,000 families.
